Riverside communities are herb dominated with tall perennials on depositional banks and diverse graminoid/forb community in scour zone. Similar community to this one was sampled upstream (plot MONF.70).;Flat alluvial terrace with second growth Picea rubens forest with scattered Rhododendron maximum and abundant Picea regeneration in understory. Heavy herb cover dominated by Dryopteris intermedia. Wetland indicators include gleyed soil, Osmunda cinnamomea, and Sphagnum. Near the upper elevational limit of Rhododendron maximum in this position. Cored tree about 100 years old.
